In this episode, Christopher Meloni guest-starred as Billy, a cosmetic salesman who was just dumped by his girlfriend after 11 years. Then he meets Hope, and things go a little faster. Hope and Billy hit it off on Billy's last night in town before he heads to Guatemala to work with Habitat for Humanity. They get cozy quickly, but then Hope freaks out when she learns that Billy might be a long-lost brother. Hilarity ensues for a while until she's reassured that her father, Bill Anderson, is not the same guy as Billy's father, Bill Anderson. 

About the show: Hope and Gloria ran for 35 episodes from March 9, 1995 to June 22, 1996. The sitcom focused on Hope Richardson (played by Cynthia Stevenson) and Gloria Utz (Jessica Lundy) as mismatched friends who live across the hall from each other in a Pittsburgh apartment building. Kind, perky and newly single Hope produces a local talk show starring pompous host Dennis Dupree (Alan Thicke). Tough, confident Gloria is a hairdresser whose ex-husband Louis (Enrico Colantoni) is always around.
